Somewhere along the way the internet became a series of things trying to convert you. Every page wants an email address, a subscription, a scroll depth. The Useless Web is the opposite: a curated shuffle of sites built by people who had a dumb idea at 2am and shipped it.

The homepage is one purple screen with one instruction, “Please”, and one button. You click. A new tab opens. You are now looking at something that has absolutely no reason to exist, and you will be delighted.

The magic is the curation. These are not random links; they’re hand-picked one-joke sites, most of which do a single thing perfectly and then stop. Someone spent a weekend building a page that lets you throw a virtual pebble into a virtual pond and then never touched it again. The Useless Web is the museum that keeps those alive.

There’s a genuine argument that this is the most useful site on this list, because it is the only one that reliably makes people laugh out loud within ten seconds.
